Terms
These terms cover this website and an application to the pilot programme. If you are accepted into the pilot, using the RoastWerk application itself is covered by a separate agreement we will send you before you start.
What the pilot is
The pilot is eight roastery places, running for ninety days. It is free for its full length. Applying does not create a contract, and we may decline an application, close applications early, change the size of the cohort, or end the pilot if it is not working. If we do end it early, you keep the right to export everything you have put in.
What it costs
Nothing during the pilot. We do not ask for a card and nothing starts charging automatically when the ninety days are up.
The figures on the home page — a band between $50 and $200 a month at launch, set by how much you roast — are an honest indication of where pricing is heading, not a binding offer. Your band will be confirmed to you in writing before day 90, and continuing after the pilot is a decision you make then.
Pre-release software
RoastWerk is young and the pilot exists precisely to find what is missing. The software is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind: it may contain defects, it may be unavailable, and features may change or be withdrawn during the pilot.
Because of that, do not make RoastWerk your only record of anything you are legally required to keep. Keep your own books and your own copies. You can export your data — beans, lots, profiles, orders, invoices — to CSV at any time, without asking us. If we ever shut the product down, we will give ninety days' notice and a full export.
Your data and your feedback
Your roastery's data is yours. You give us permission to store and process it only so far as running the service requires, and you can take it out or have it deleted whenever you want.
Feedback is the point of the pilot, so it works differently: if you tell us what is wrong or what is missing, we may act on it and build it, without owing you anything for it. We will not quote you or name your roastery in public without asking you first.
Reasonable use
Do not use the site or the software to break the law, to attack or probe the systems it runs on, or to resell access to someone else. We can end access for a roastery doing any of those.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profit, lost production, lost or corrupted data, or any indirect loss arising from your use of pre-release software, and our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us — which, during the pilot, is nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the foot of this page changes with them, and anyone in the pilot gets an email rather than a silent edit.
