RoastWerk

Privacy

RoastWerk is a pre-launch product recruiting pilot roasteries. This page describes every piece of personal data this website collects. It is short because the site does very little.

Who is responsible

RoastWerk operates this site and decides how the data described below is used. For anything on this page — including a request to see or delete your data — write to andy@occamslabs.com.

What the application form collects

If you apply for a pilot place, you send us exactly what you type into the form:

  • Roastery name
  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your city and country
  • Roughly how much you roast a month
  • What wholesale looks like for you
  • What software you use today
  • Optionally, what you would most like to stop doing by hand

There is no account, no password and no payment step. Nothing else about you is captured with the form — no device fingerprint, no hidden fields beyond one empty spam trap that must stay blank.

Why we hold it and for how long

We use it to decide who to invite into the pilot and to reply to you, either way, within three working days. That is the only purpose. We do not sell it, we do not share it with advertisers, and applying does not enrol you in a marketing sequence.

Applications are kept until pilot selection finishes and then for twelve months, so we can come back to roasteries we could not fit in the first cohort. After that they are deleted. You can ask us to delete yours sooner, at any time, and we will do it without asking why.

Analytics

This site uses Simple Analytics, which is cookieless and does not collect or store personal data. It records aggregate page views and a small number of events — such as "someone reached the pilot section" or "someone submitted the form" — with no identifier attached to them. Do Not Track is respected. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no cross-site tracking on this site.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies. Your language choice is taken from the address of the page you are on, not stored on your device.

Third parties that see your request

Loading any web page shares your IP address with whoever serves it. On this site that means our hosting provider, Simple Analytics as described above, and Google Fonts, which serves the two typefaces the page uses. None of them receive anything you type into the form.

Where you submit an application, the contents travel to us by email or through a form-handling service and are stored in our own mailbox. Data may be processed outside the country you live in.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us holding it at all. Email andy@occamslabs.com and we will answer within thirty days. If you are in the EU or UK and you think we have handled your data badly, you can also complain to your national data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects data already collected, we will email everyone who has applied rather than quietly editing the page.
